Emily voiced a lot of skepticism regarding the possibility of adopting a child, which was one of the first choices that was suggested. She wasn’t sure this was the best choice for her life and needed more time to make a final decision.

Don’t Want To Consider Adoption
For one particular reason, she was opposed to the concept of becoming an adoptive parent. The child would not be hers in every sense of the word. Not those made of her flesh and blood. She was petrified that they would think of her as nothing more than a glorified babysitter.
