Motherhood Is For Every Female Character
It goes without saying that being a mother is never easy. In that sense, every mother deserves to be honored. Nonetheless, there are many people who would choose not to have children. It’s surprising that most movies don’t address this. Even female characters who are not particularly eager to have children end up having them by the end of the film. We have Claire from Jurassic Park, who first states that she is unsure if she wants children. Her sister informs her that she will reconsider in the future. She becomes a surrogate mother to her nephews before the credits roll. This storyline premise has earned the film a lot of criticism, with some viewers claiming that it is completely misogynistic. It doesn’t help that one of the dinosaurs eats the other non-maternal character.
Unequal Attractiveness Does Not Work Both Ways
There aren’t many completely unattractive men in Hollywood, but this is something that disturbs us. In movies, how frequently do you see an unattractive person with a beautiful woman? This is usually used as a comic plot device, especially when there is a more conventionally attractive male in the film. For one thing, in The Other Guys, Mark Wahlberg nearly bursts when he learns that Will Ferrell is married to Eva Mendes. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it is unusual that the opposite is rarely seen. In Hollywood, average women simply do not attract exceptionally gorgeous men. In real life, it doesn’t matter because relationships are usually founded on other factors. Hairspray attempts to defy this cliche by starring Nikki Blonsky with Zac Efron, but she is not ugly in the least.
