For as long as anyone can remember, punishment has been an integral part of school life. There is absolutely no one who has not been punished for something they did as a child in their elementary school. Even the most trivial of reasons for getting into trouble can be enough for us to say that authorities should do better. Among the 40 or so reasons why the kids ended up in trouble are these:
Loo Break Request, Turned Down
Despite having completed all of his work, this poor child was denied his well-deserved toilet break. He was yelled at by his teacher and told not to get up when he asked permission to go to the bathroom.
As a result, he did the next best thing: he did the next best thing. For what seemed like a million years, he kept his hand raised. When the teacher finally noticed him, he told him that he could just get up and go whenever he needed to go to the loo.
Punished for Not Making a Mother’s Day Card
On Mother’s Day, this teacher expected all of her students to make a card. With the exception of one, the majority of his students did. That student was singled out for disobeying instructions and was eventually punished for his misbehavior.
The student had reportedly been at the school for six years. His mother was no longer interested in him and his father. Everyone at school was aware of this. Unless the teacher, of course. Only if the teacher had a better grasp of his circumstances!
The One Where Kid’s Name Spells Trouble
Because of her unusual name, this kid received a punishment. She doesn’t say her name, but it’s clear that she’s a guy’s name. As a result, her paper was not handed out by the teacher.
When the girl offered to show her ID, she declined and proceeded to ask the names of each student. The girl approached the teacher again, irritated by her behavior. She had the support of the entire class this time. Despite the fact that she was given the paper by the teacher, she was punished for being disrespectful.
This Teacher Refused to Own Up Her Folly
‘Teachers who are adamant about admitting their mistakes’ is a recurring theme throughout the article, but this one incident stands out. So, in this particular student’s kindergarten, it was a rule that you could only leave if you said a word that started with the letter E.
They said ‘Eye’ right away when this kid was called. The teacher, on the other hand, sounded skeptical. The kid spelled it out for her after realizing she had mixed it up with I. Unfortunately, she was summoned to the office for this!
The Teacher Who Had a ‘No Bleeding Rule’
In this story, the teacher had a strange ‘no bleeding rule’ for his students. This meant that while they were in his class, they were not allowed to bleed. And he was a stickler for it.
He once expelled a student from a math class because he had scratched a popped pimple that had bled unintentionally. Only one conclusion can be drawn: the teacher could not stand the sight of blood. As a result, the rule!
This Teacher Asked the Whole Class to Boo!
This teacher wasn’t happy with a student’s drawing. A girl’s hair had been dyed in various shades by the girl. It seemed natural to her because she was half-blonde and half-brunette herself. Her teacher, however, was not impressed.
It was wrong and unnatural, the teacher told the girl. She then proceeded to encourage bullying by asking the entire class to boo the girl. Fortunately, the girl’s mother was encouraging and kept the drawing as a prized possession.
The Kid Who Tried to Avoid Bird Dropping
This person was required to follow a rule in third grade, which required them to sit with their backs against the balcony railing. This was partly due to the fact that theirs was an upper-level classroom.
Where this kid used to sit, a bird had left its droppings. She had to adjust her posture to avoid coming into contact with the mess because there was no other available space. This meant she had to sit for ten minutes on the edge of the cliff. She was, however, yelled at for it.
Punished for Saying OMG!
This child was punished in first grade for saying OMG, which stands for “Oh my goodness!” To many of us, that may seem insignificant, but the individual in question was instructed to go to the principal’s office right away and make the necessary corrections.
Because she attended a private Catholic school, her ‘Oh my goodness’ was interpreted as an insult, and the school authorities took disciplinary action against her. However, it appears to be unnecessary!
Getting Punished for Not Sleeping
People have been punished as children for sleeping in class at some point. However, the fact that he is being punished for not sleeping is a plot twist. It sounds like a story from another world, but it isn’t.
This person appeared to be suffering from borderline insomnia. As a result, she was unable to fall asleep during naptime. This enraged the teacher to the point where she dug her talons under the kid’s jaw and demanded that she go see the principal if she didn’t fall asleep soon.
Penalized for Sneezing
Sneezing is a normal part of life, and it should not be avoided. They should, however, use a tissue or a handkerchief and keep their distance from other people when sneezing.
Her English teacher, on the other hand, yelled at this kid for sneezing in class. Furthermore, her sneezing irritated him so much that he gave three other students demerits for simply saying, “Bless you,” when she sneezed.
Punishing the Survivor
This is a disturbing account, and we sincerely hope that the school has taken appropriate action against the offender. So, in kindergarten, this girl had her fair share of #metoo.
A second-grader apparently tried to wake her up. Rather than giving in, the girl pushed him away with force and was ejected for displaying violence. The boy, on the other hand, was unharmed. We wish the teacher had given both sides a chance to speak before imposing a punishment.
Punishing the Survivor Continues
What gives that schools aren’t paying attention to the violence perpetrated against female students? This girl was pinned against the wall by a boy during a play session when she was in second grade.
She was terrified and kept pleading with the boy to let her go. She kicked him hard to free herself after her request fell on deaf ears. Her actions got her in trouble, but the boy got away with it.
Misinterpreting the Actions
This incident may appear to be connected to another incident involving this child, but it is not. As a result, this kindergarten student was irritated because another child had cut in front of her. When he told his teacher about it, he was told to let go.
Cut to the second half, when the kid is frantically licking his chapped lips. It was misinterpreted by the teacher. The teacher was quick to hand out the red card as a result of the misinterpretation.
Punished Because Teacher Felt Like
This kid was punished for the most ludicrous reason imaginable. The teacher’s whims and fancies were the basis for his punishment. The kid was apparently punished for removing his hat with a bad attitude, if that makes any sense.
This explanation is incomprehensible to anyone. Having said that, learning the reason for this child’s punishment was something so trivial and silly is truly appalling, surprising, and confusing.
Punished for Getting Their Name Right
Although students are punished for misspelling names and not spelling them correctly, this kid was punished for spelling his name correctly. As strange as it may appear, it did occur.
Not one, not two, but three teachers rounded up the kid in an attempt to disprove him. When he returned home crying, his mother decided to deal with the situation sternly by giving the concerned teachers a solid tongue lashing. She appears to be a Supermom!
Penalized for Getting Hurt
Childhood and injuries are inextricably linked. During playtime, the kids are bound to get hurt. But getting in trouble for it is a little excessive. Because of his frequent injuries, this first-grader got into trouble.
He was frequently hurt because the child was extremely active and had fragile bones. He hit his head on monkey bars on several occasions. Despite the fact that he had a large bruise, the teacher refused to believe him and refused to allow him to visit the nursing home.
Detention for an Injury
This may appear to be a continuation or sequel to the previous incident. So, while cutting paper for a classroom project, this kid accidentally cut his finger. As the blood began to ooze from the cut, another child became nauseous and began vomiting.
The teacher, however, was unconcerned and asked the two students to clean up the mess afterward. They were also sent to detention for causing the shambles in the first place.
Ignoring the Student’s Injury
Another instance of a teacher’s mishandling of a mishap has occurred. And it’s about a student with Asperger’s syndrome. So, while playing volleyball in fifth grade, this student twisted his knee and landed on it.
Because he has Asperger’s, he found it difficult to express what had happened, leading the teacher to believe everything was fine. They also forced him to walk while his knee was swollen. It turned out to be a severe sprain of the knee.
The Case of ‘Misspelled’ Name
Some names have a lot of different spellings. Liza, for example, could be misspelled Lisa. Kourtney is another name that is frequently misspelled. According to reports, one of these Kourtneys was yelled at by her teacher for intentionally misspelling her name.
Before she was subjected to the teacher’s wrath, she was rescued by her aunt’s friend, who worked in the office, and the situation was quickly resolved. These teachers were clearly impatient.
Scolded for Following Orders
Teacher’s are usually annoyed when students do not adhere to their rules and guidelines. A student who was simply following her instructions, on the other hand, made this teacher angry.
The teacher had apparently written a song about emotions and asked the students to imitate her facial expressions during a recital. But, I suppose she became so engrossed in the process that she lost track of her own instructions and assumed one of the students was making faces at her.
Got Yelled at Her Absence
Despite the fact that she was not in school that day, this student was yelled at. “X was being yelled at by the teacher for not keeping quiet,” according to her friend’s account.
The irony was that X had skipped school on that particular day. Perhaps the teacher was simply forgetful, or perhaps the names were mixed up. In any case, it had to be a pretty amusing scene to see a teacher yell at someone who wasn’t even in class.
Fashion Choices Gone Rogue
According to news reports, children are frequently chastised for wearing non-binary and “gender-inappropriate” clothing. The teacher, on the other hand, chastised this sixth grader for wearing a fingerless glove.
While reprimanding the student, the teacher told him that he should not wear his gloves in class. It was just a fingerless glove, now that I think about it. Not a big deal! We’re guessing the teacher didn’t like these particular gloves.
Rebuked for Using the Wrong Vocabulary
Some teachers are notorious for being overly critical of grammar. Take, for example, this one! The teacher was apparently so particular about word choice (or perhaps it was a school policy) that when a student asked for permission to use the restroom to barf, she made a big deal about it.
As soon as she was finished with the child’s “barfing,” she escorted him to the Principal’s office, where he was severely reprimanded for using the term barf instead of vomiting or throwing up.
Punished for Having ‘Too Many Erasers’
This fifth-grader got into trouble because he had too many erasers. It would have been understandable if there were 20-30 of them in the class, making a shambles. This kid, on the other hand, had only three. One of his detractors apparently dumped a bunch of erasers on his desk.
The teacher refused to listen to the kid when he tried to explain what had happened. The child was sent home with his eraser collection stapled shut and a note to his parents about his “disruptive behavior.”
Punishing the Complainant
In an unusual occurrence, a student who was shoved into a locker was punished for it. When the student approached the Principal to report the incident, the Principal decided to punish the complainant rather than the bully.
‘If you are dumb enough to let it happen, you can serve the detention,’ he said when he issued her detention. No matter how hard we try, we can’t get our heads around this punishment!
Scolded for Reading Too Much
This child was chastised for his voracious reading habits. He got into trouble with the school authorities, according to reports, because of his passion for reading. He was sent to the office and told to call his parents about his lunchtime reading habit.
The student in question was apparently bullied by his peers for being physically inactive. As a result, he found comfort in reading. If only the authorities had conducted a thorough investigation before acting.
Questioning the Child’s State of Mind
Many students have tried to avoid boring school lectures by looking out the window. During her boring English classes, the student in question did the same thing. This teacher, on the other hand, wrote a note to her parents.
The student is disturbed, unbalanced, and frequently looks out the window, according to the note. The student was assigned an independent study by an understanding principal. It was fortunate for the teacher that she was caught drinking and fired on the spot.
Punished for Having an Asthma Attack
This sixth-grader was sent to the principal’s office because he was having an asthma attack. With a note on the subject, she was sent to the Principal’s office. In addition, the teacher instructed the entire class to maintain pin-drop silence.
The girl went to her desk to get her pump, causing a minor commotion. Her detention was increased after the teacher became enraged by her action. In the end, the teacher’s mother had to come to the rescue.
Chastised for Not Being a ‘Whistle-Blower’
Whistling is a difficult skill to master, and it necessitates specific techniques. Many adults don’t know how to use a whistle. In his pre-school, this particular boy was chastised for not being able to blow a whistle.
He was given a time-out for failing to follow the instructions. We hope that the institution is now dealing with such incidents more humanely, even if he hasn’t yet learned to blow the whistle.
Punished for Submitting Assignment Early
When it comes to assignments, the standard procedure is to turn them in on time or slightly later than the deadline. There are a few early submissions, but they are few and far between.
One student was reprimanded by his teacher for turning in her math homework before anyone else. This piqued the teacher’s interest, and the girl was summoned to the Principal’s office. Fortunately, the Principal was aware of the girl’s aptitude for numbers and provided her with a book to read until the next period.
Reprimanded for Being Diabetic
We believe it is the same teacher who previously chastised the asthmatic student for using the inhaler. The teacher chastised a diabetic girl for using the glucose monitor this time.
The teacher apparently thought the girl’s glucose monitor was making too much noise. As a result, he chose to punish the girl. On so many levels, this is wrong. Teachers in this situation should ideally attend a few lectures on empathy from the life school.
Suspended for Bringing Pink Lemonade
This school says you can’t bring your pink lemonades. This girl was suspended for bringing her own pink lemonade to school. The school apparently had a vending machine that sold $1 lemonade bottles.
This girl decided to bring her pink lemonade premix and drink free water from the school’s water fountains to save money. However, this did not sit well with the school, and the girl was briefly suspended.
A Clear-Cut Misunderstanding
This individual was summoned to the Vice Principal’s office on suspicion of drug possession. The VP made every effort to persuade him to accept responsibility for his actions, even sending a few samples to be tested in the lab.
Despite the fact that the guy told the VP it was candy, the VP continued on his monologue trail. After a while, the student was sent home and his parents were summoned. The student’s father, on the other hand, kept his cool and later laughed it off.
Singled Out for Long Hair
It happened in a Catholic school. The school had a hair rule that the boys’ hair couldn’t touch their ears, according to reports. For his ‘too long hair,’ this kid was sent to the Principal’s office, and his parents were notified.
His sassy mother, on the other hand, handled the situation calmly and told the management not to bother her while she was at work. Before hanging up on the authorities, she added that the necessary work would be completed after her working hours.
Scolded for Drinking Water
We are all aware of the importance of staying hydrated, particularly in hot and humid weather. While children are encouraged to drink water to avoid heatstroke, this girl was given a dressing down for drinking water.
Because of this, she was not allowed to leave the house again until the end of the day. As for staying hydrated, forget about it. As a teacher, this individual is clearly unqualified.
Suspended for Touching the Snow
While receiving punishment for playing in the snow or defacing a snow sculpture is one thing, being suspended solely for touching the snow is one of the most ludicrous grounds for punishment ever devised.
Even though he put his pinkie in the snow, the student in question was suspended. We’re hoping the administration wasn’t afraid of snow. They might have preferred to act icily.
Ran Into Trouble for Opening Pepsi
This student was reprimanded for assisting a girl. He was apparently asked to open the cap of a Pepsi bottle for her. The boy agreed to her request and was scheduled to meet with the Principal later.
The girl had apparently stolen the Pepsi bottle from somewhere. He was declared an accomplice because he assisted her in opening the bottle. We wish he had been given a fair hearing by the authorities.
Scolded for Opening the Bottle, Wrong Way
Some bottles’ packaging can be extremely complicated, making it difficult to open the bottles. The design flaw that this fifth-grader appears to have encountered appears to be one of those.
Her good intentions to open the salad dressing bottle resulted in a wrong note. Her deed left a smear of white on the faces of her classmates. The girl was suspended for three days for her alleged misbehavior. Are you listening, bottle manufacturer?
Punished for Leaking a Secret
This boy’s good intention to inform his teacher about a classmate’s celebrity backfired. The boy had apparently caught his classmate applying adhesive to the table. He tried everything he could to stop him, but it was futile.
As a result, he was reprimanded for leaking other people’s secrets when he told his teacher as a last resort. The boy, in our opinion, was simply trying to prevent damage to the school’s property. Isn’t that what we learn in school?
Punished for Not Holding Crayon Properly
Art is supposed to be inventive and free of conventions and rules in order to encourage creative thinking. But it was nothing like what we just described for this student.
The kindergartener was chastised for incorrectly holding her crayons. Her only flaw was that instead of using an up and down motion, she colored her drawing book by moving her crayons sideways. We recommend that the teacher be fired immediately.
Being Called Out for No Reason
Teachers have a habit of punishing students for the oddest of reasons. This second grader, for example, was disciplined for walking between the bus drivers while they were having a deep conversation.
It appeared rude to the teacher. According to the student, she didn’t want to do it on purpose, but she had no choice because there was no other way to get through. After she apologized to both drivers, the student was let off the hook.
Punished for Lack of Cutting Skills
This particular second-grader was punished for not being able to cut paper. According to the teacher, she couldn’t even fold a paper properly, let alone cut it. The teacher went on to say that the girl was being deliberately difficult.
The girl, on the other hand, had been struggling with her motor skills for quite some time. The world would have been a better place if more teachers were sensitive to the needs of special needs children.
Punished for Swag
This student was disciplined for something that his teacher most likely regarded as heavy swag. Due to the cold weather, the student appeared to have a habit of keeping his hands in his pockets.
However, the teacher disagreed. She assumed the boy was flaunting his bling and concealing something in his pockets. She swiftly punished the boy without even questioning him about the reason. So unfair!
Getting Into Trouble for Wrong Typing Posture
This student got in trouble with her teacher for not maintaining proper posture during typing class. Apparently, the teacher instructed her to type with her feet flat on the floor.
She couldn’t touch the floor with her feet because of her height and the ergonomically incorrect chair. Her mother eventually had to step in and explain the situation to her teacher. We hope they either replaced the chair or recognized the girl’s predicament.
Punished for Cutting an Eraser
Pranks are acceptable as long as they do not cause harm to others. In fact, one of the characteristics of a happy childhood is pranks. The teacher, on the other hand, disciplined this student for slicing an eraser.
We hope the teacher wasn’t being overly strict and was simply punishing the child for using a sharp object, assuming the child used one. This time, if that is the case, we are on the teacher’s side.
