In Contrast To Other Females
It wasn’t that Peggy was the only female mechanic at the Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma, although she was the only one at the time. However, it was her capacity to follow her heart that ignited the fire within her as well. You see, Peggy was the only woman who worked as a mechanic at the time. A position that was formerly reserved for men. After all, during those years in the early 1900s, women tended to stay at home more than they did now. Peggy, on the other hand, desired to follow her heart and accomplish more with her life. She listened to her intuition and knew exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
It Was A Perfect Match
As Peggy continued to work, she came into contact with Billie’s father, who happened to be employed in the propeller department at the base at the time of their meeting. It didn’t take long before Peggy was introduced to Billie and their relationship began to blossom. Sparks flew as a result of that interaction. Peggy was not like the other girls whose only goal in life was to marry affluent men; she was different. Her desire to serve her country in the best way she knew how led Peggy to devote her days to resolving complex technical problems.
