The Limit
Nadya’s strong desire to have children, as well as her belief that other methods should be tried because the traditional method had failed, prompted her to raise the issue, but Marcos was adamantly opposed to them. Their opposing viewpoints caused a schism in the relationship, but it was her suggestion of IVF that pushed him over the edge (in vitro fertilization). An egg cell is fertilized outside of the body and then implanted into a woman’s uterus in this medical procedure. Marcos specifically warned Nadya that if she went ahead with the procedure, he would leave her.
A Difficult Choice
Nadya now had to choose between her love for Marcos and the possibility of having children or her greatest dream of becoming a mother and losing her husband. Finally, Nadya decided to pursue her lifelong ambition and took a huge risk. Despite how difficult it was for Nadya to do so, she divorced in the year 2000. Since her ex-husband was no longer in the picture, Nadya decided to try IVF to start the family she had always wanted, but things didn’t turn out the way she had hoped…
