The siblings started performing at local bars, dance halls, local rodeos and honky-tonks as the Singing McEntires. They even recorded a song named after their grandpa entitled “ The Ballad of John McEntire”; and made thousands of copies of the record! Aside from that, the Singing McEntire also made two major hits that were played by local radio stations around Oklahoma, but the group also performed the hits live from time to time.

A Lesson For A Lifetime
There was this one night when the family was on their way to another gig when Reba told her mother that she wanted to invite everybody in the dance hall to attend church on Sunday. But her mother’s answer was a lesson that Reba still carries up to this day. Her mother asked Reba what made her think that the same people do not go to church. During an interview, Reba shared that it was at that moment that she learned a powerful lesson. She learned that it is not right to judge other people especially when you don’t know them.
