Benji did not so much as glance at Stacy on the way back to his residence. She understood it would take a great deal of effort to restore this poor puppy’s faith in people and make him the joyful, cheerful dog he once was. Stacy first believed she could successfully complete the task, but she soon realized that her optimism was mistaken. Because Benji was not the family’s first puppy, they already owned a variety of dog-related items. Already, three more were roaming the house. As soon as they were let to leave the other room, the family’s other dogs began investigating their new companion.
