Cavallari shared on A Drink With, the web series, that Cutler asked her out on a date through his publicist. She said, “I didn’t know who he was! I had to Google him. I was in the middle of filming The Hills so I was like, ‘I don’t want a boyfriend in Chicago,’ and I passed on it.” A year later, the two met at a preseason game of the Chicago Bears – a more organic way of meeting. They also were engaged twice in 2011 prior to welcoming their first baby in 2012 and finally getting married in 2013.
