First of all, while he was attending the University of Southern California on a basketball scholarship, he was paying the bills while he worked as a model. Do we need to point out that he played for the USC Trojans men’s basketball team? Didn’t think so. Moreover Tom Selleck was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and the Trojan Knights. While studying for his degree in Business Administration, it was actually a drama coach who recommended to Selleck that he try acting. That’s when Selleck started to study acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, under the great Milton Katselas.

The greatness of Tom Selleck doesn’t stop there either – from 1967 to 1973, he actually served in the United States Army. As a result, he was in the 160th Infantry Regiment of the California Army National Guard, and by the time his service was up, he finished as a Sergeant. #notbad
