Joanna and Chip Gaines are known by a lot of HGTV viewers for hosting the channel’s “Fixer Upper,” the popular home makeover show. Like most of the shows on HGTV, Joanna and Chip’s specialty is visiting other people’s homes and giving the home’s interior a makeover – one that is glamorous, new, and trendy. Since the couple have a keen eye for detail concerning home decor, many people are wondering what the pair’s own home looks like. Well, no need to wonder anymore as we explore the Gaines’ home which apparently took Joanna and Chip more than 18 months to make it the way they had wanted it.
The First Time They Met
First, some background on the home-helping couple who have become household names. Joanna and Chip both grew up in the state of Texas, studied at the same school and being just three years apart, met each other in Waco back in 2001. The first time Chip saw Joanna was in a portrait that was at a shop her father owned and Chip knew that he wanted to be together with her forever. The two soon got married in the year 2003 and the couple’s love of interiors took off and turned into a shared passion.
After Joanna and Chip got married, they lived in many different homes – a total of nine homes actually. However, the couple knew they wanted to eventually settle down, so they thought they needed a home that perfectly suits their family. Thus, they started their own personal renovation project, one that would become the home they could settle down in and one which wouldn’t be exchanged for another. Things weren’t really easy and the house they decided on wasn’t really large, but as you’ll get to see in this article, it is quite the labor of love for the fixer-upper couple and it proved really successful.
A Farmhouse Becoming Home
The place where Joanna and Chip decided to settle in wasn’t as large as a mansion, but it was still going to be one massive project to do. In 2012, the pair purchased a farmhouse that came with an unfinished attic and two bedrooms. It might not sound like much for a growing family like theirs, especially since the place is in serious need of repairs to be suitable, but ever the skilled couple, they both were determined to transform the place and make it work for them. The goal wasn’t only making the house suitable enough for their whole family, but also to create an interior charming enough and worthy of their claim to TV fame.
A Worthwhile But Challenging Project
The home renovation project wasn’t going to be a walk in the park as it would take the Gaines 18 months to make their dream home a reality. Bear in mind that Joanna and Chip were working on their house while they were servicing some other renovations for their clients. However, the Gaines home was a project that is really worth it due to the property’s historic nature and the beautiful land where the farmhouse sat upon. Among the extremely interesting finds of a property this old was probably the abundance of paperwork Joanna had stumbled on inside the house which dated back to the year 1895, so it appears the Gaines didn’t just purchase a farmhouse and some land but also a rather fascinating story to tell.
In October 2013, the Gaines family moved into and settled in the renovated farmhouse. One would think that since the Gaines is quite a large family, Joanna and Chip would opt to build quite a number of extensions to their farmhouse, but Joanna appeared to be set on maintaining some of the property’s history and old charm, so she made sure the extensions added were kept to a minimum. Actually, only the master bedroom had an extension built to it. However, the couple still needed to add in the fixtures and fittings necessary to make the place suitable as a family home.
On a blog, Joanna wrote about choosing the colors of her family’s new home, with her going for a palette of natural colors and whites. This choice is best seen from the exterior of the house, which showcases how great the soft colors match the traditional appeal that the classic wooden beams hold. Due to this subtle nature, more attention is drawn to the oak trees on the property, one of the biggest selling points for Chip and Joanna with regard to purchasing the house. It’s really no wonder why you would want to focus other’s attention on such a lovely setting.
Tastefully Decorated Entrance
Now let’s focus on the entrance and have a closer look prior to venturing inside. The entrance matches the neutrality of the exterior and boasts a hall that does not only have an airy and light tone but also brilliantly added white and gray accents. There is also a G for Gaines (a personal signature on their home’s design, no doubt), an inspirational wall message, and a coat rack. This is presented in a way that is really clean and tasteful but, then again, we’re talking about Joanna Gaines here, so we shouldn’t really expect anything less.
A Modern But Rustic Kitchen
Going into the kitchen, one may notice a definite open feeling as one takes a look at this room. A vital aspect of the interior that Joanna and Chip most wanted was an easy flow between rooms, which actually required changing the layout in general and restructuring many of the walls. Complete with a painted wooden ceiling, white tiling, and black fixtures/fittings, the look of the kitchen is modern owing to the sleekness yet the rustic appeal of being a farmhouse is not sacrificed. What draws attention the most is the shiny breakfast bar that is in a kitchen which looks especially inviting for any large family to eat in together.
Comfortable Dining Area
From the kitchen, we now go into the lounging and dining area, with the effortless flow between the rooms. It’s important to have a sense of ease going from the kitchen preparing food to a more relaxed environment where you can have drinks in, and this home is perfectly built for that sort of thing. The size of the dining table is suitable for the area and for accommodating the large Gaines family, and after dinner, the family can kick back and relax on a huge and comfy couch. Also, don’t forget to take note of the numerous accessories in this area which are beautifully reflective of the Gaines’ Magnolia Market.
Beautiful And Functional Living Room
This time, let’s look more closely at the living room, since it may be among the most important spots that makes a house feel like a home for any family. Let’s be honest; if you need to manage numerous children, you’re most likely going to need space where you can take it easy following a long day as a parent. The Gaines’ living room is an amazing blend of a beautiful design and functional lounging. Thanks structural work that Chip has done, the area has an open and feeling even to it which makes it the best place to put your feet up.
Joanna’s design skills are exceptional, so it is natural to expect that the Gaines household is properly decorated with the right things to create a beautiful home without becoming too chic, and that is exactly what Joanna did and achieved. Just take a look at the stunningly beautiful pieces she has added to their home – this glass vase with some flowers and this markedly alluring lamp design which just screams of flea market find that is truly a treasure. Naturally, these items represent Magnolia Market’s fashion, so they are also a marketing feature, and they do their job quite well.
New Master Bedroom
As we mentioned previously, only one part of the Gaines’ house is a completely new addition and that is the master bedroom. Joanna and Chip took great care to ensure that this addition would remain in style with other parts of the interior, so they incorporated an old door which they had found and flooring that was from the original attic in order to use materials which were proper and faithful to the original farmhouse. However, let’s be real; it’s that gorgeous bed that draws the eye as it is simply a dazzling room centerpiece, with just the enough attractiveness to suit the neutral tones.
The Coziest Nook In The House
As you can see, there is also a comfortable sitting area in the master bedroom, complete with two comfy seats, a desk, and a chair. The spot is perfect for taking a breather, particularly on a chilly winter day with a perfectly placed fireplace to warm you up while you rest your feet or have a nap. Without a doubt, this is the coziest nook in their perfect renovation of the farmhouse. Thus, the living room is not the only space Chip and Joanna use to unwind.
An Inviting Master Bedroom Bathroom
Now, that old door to the left of the desk may have caught your attention. That door actually opens onto an en-suite bathroom, which has a free-standing bathtub and white tiling that blend so well together. The bathroom looks amazing from this view, but it’s essentially the entrance with this old-fashioned door plus the lanterns placed on the sides which truly make this interior bathroom look the most inviting. It looks more like you will be entering a Hobbit hole than going into the bathing quarters.
Inside The Master Bedroom Bathroom
Okay, perhaps you want to look more closely at that bathroom, you know, just in case some hidden mess was effortlessly masked by the rather eye-catching lanterns and door. Rest easy; it is a lovely bathroom. The neutral palette is continued in this room, complete with white floors, sink, drawers, and even a chandelier. Not including the chandelier, which is still nice, this bathroom is relatively simple yet relaxing, so we’re sure it makes for a really soothing spot where one can take a bath and also wash away the day’s frustrations.
The Girls’ Bedroom
Joanna and Chip’s daughters Emmie Kay (8) and Ella Rose (11) also have their own bedroom which is worth boasting about. The girls also received all the Gaines central style hallmarks in this room; the white and gray hues, the understated wall art, and the chandelier. However, you’ll also notice that there’s a splash of pink at the sides of the beds, to add some color just in case the young ones get bored with the simple shades. Also, take a look at that amazing dollhouse which suspiciously looks quite like the very farmhouse which was renovated.
The Boys’ Bedroom
Joanna and Chip have three sons, Drake (13), Duke (10) and another son who was born in June 2018, and as you can see, the couple built something a little different for the boys’ bedroom. It includes stylish bunk beds that have steel frames, bedside lamps on the wall by each bed, the word adventure written on the wall, and a deer head in the en-suite bathroom, but wait, four beds? Are they preparing for when kids sleep over or are they pregnant with another boy? Well, if another child is going to be in the picture, they are well prepared for the baby, that is if it’s a boy.
An Inspiring Environment For The Boys
If you turn, away from the boys’ beds, you’ll find a lot of stuff the adventurous Gaines boys can play with. There is a large map on their wall which can help them finish their geography homework, a desk with some stools, and a ladder which helps them work off some extra energy. There are also boards on the walls which are perfect for hanging photos. These aspects help make an inspiring environment which can still keep that airy feeling Joanna and Chip wanted to flow through the rooms of the house.
Stairs With Framed Family Memories
The style that Joanna and Chip have for their home doesn’t look exactly like the norm as can be seen in their choice in design and decor, but they aren’t above the simpler things that make a house feel like home. A lot like their Instagram, which is loaded with their family pictures, the stairs in their home also come complete with framed family memories, some truly classic addition. Look at the black and white pictures inviting you up the stairs. The photos showcasing the Gaines family’s charming moments also have black and white frames to still maintain the color flow.
The Welcome Addition Of A Coffee Bar
A coffee bar is an uncommon addition to their home yet one that is very much welcome. Joanna and Chip have built the perfect area in their home where they can share a hot cup of their favorite coffee and this neat little section is decked out with some stools and shelves of different coffees and syrups. We weren’t even aware that a coffee bar in the home was a thing until we began with this article. However, now that our eyes have fallen on what the Gaines have done with making their own in quite a small space, this is bound to become an inspiration for a person’s next home makeover.
The Kids’ Craft Room
The farmhouse may seem like a rather small purchase for a big family like the Gaines’ but there is no doubt that Joanna and Chip utilized every inch of the place to maximum effect. The upper attic showcases this best as it has been transformed into this quaint little spot, which serves as the kids’ craft room. Complete with an overhead light, a table, stools, a window and the box shelving attached to the walls, it’s an adorable and lovely little area that can inspire their kids without turning the house into an absolute disaster of glue, paper, and whatever cool project the children can think of.
A Crafting Room For Adults
In this household, the creative spaces aren’t limited to children only as the adults also have their own. Joanna has made sure to build a crafting area for her very own creations as well, and it includes a bigger table, chairs with wheels and more shelving. Complete with beautiful art displayed on the walls and an overhead light, Joanna’s space is brilliantly designed and we almost wish that business meetings would be held here aside from whatever original craft that she is making next. It’s probably the chairs with wheels which are giving us some office vibes but we certainly wouldn’t mind working in THIS office.
The Entertainment Area Outside
Now let’s go outside the Gaines’ house and see what Joanna and Chip have done with their yard in this massive property. They have built an area where they can have a barbeque with family and friends, a perfect outdoor activity for the summer. They have also built a fire pit for cooking up some meat and different parts of the barn were used as furnishings for the outdoor dining area. Also, there’s still a lot of space for the children to play at and they can still enjoy the beautiful oak found on the property.
A Traditional Farm
As we stated previously, a massive draw for Joanna and Chip was the land that the farmhouse was located in – 40 acres of beautiful and lush farmland of trees, shrubs, and plants. Making the most out of it was part of the couple’s plan, so they converted the garden into an actual farm, complete with a silo and chicken coop. The way they have preserved the farm feature of this land definitely has a traditional appeal, most likely because they also decided to keep that classic appeal and to share the land with various animals. Just because Joanna and Chip renovated the farmhouse doesn’t mean they didn’t want to keep the farm aspect of the farmland.
The Perfect Spot For Gardening
Another great feature which occupies their massive piece of land is a greenhouse that is located right outside the home. Since despite the land making for a wonderful farm, one would like to grow some things during the colder time of the year regardless. This greenhouse is just perfect for an enclosed garden like this, beautifully designed and has the familiar palette of white. The spot is perfect for carrying on with the gardening all year around and a great area for teaching about the finer details of botany to the kids.
A Porch For Relaxation
The Gaines property certainly has no shortage of areas where one can take some load off and just have a comfortable sit with contemplation, at times when one is not busy with gardening and crafts. A good example of these spots is the old location for relaxation that any country home has: the porch. Look at this peaceful sight – Joanna relaxing with her little baby Crew on the porch while admiring the land. The sight is really pleasing and we think it would be wonderful to sit out with her for many hours on a lovely summer day, just kicking back and being in a contemplative mood.
A Home For The Family
If you have doubts whether the house can actually work for housing a lot of kids with Joanna and Chip, just look at the Christmas photo below to see the actual capabilities of the dining area and living room when filled with children and a Christmas tree. The sight is gorgeous to see, with the girls relaxing while the boys play an exciting game of Jenga. Complete with the shiny looking decorated Christmas tree in the corner, this is an example of the moments which make such a home worth all of the effort.
An Ergonomic Home Office
Okay, so we’ve basically established that this home is a wonderful place to relax in but is it also great for getting work done? Of course, it’d be better to do business outside the home but it isn’t always possible especially with the tight schedules of Joanna and Chip fixing up homes. However, even if you are working, you can still be comfortable and with this chair and desk looking very much inviting, we definitely wouldn’t mind working on a laptop and taking care of business. We’ll take this over an office setting.
A Gorgeous Fireplace
Perhaps a fireplace doesn’t seem essential in Texas, but it is still a wonderful addition to the house, especially on some days when there is a dip in the temperature and one would like a warm spot where one can cozy up. Well, you can be sure that Joanna and Chip are prepared for that situation with a stunning fireplace that has stylish molding and a brick assembly to give it character. Even though this picture doesn’t really show it, we think that on a snowy day, this perspective would be what we want to have as snow falls outside.
The Final Outcome
The Gaines’ home is another significant accomplishment for the stars of HGTV. What initially began as a rather rundown farmhouse which needed some major renovations, it has been transformed into a really beautiful and inviting home sitting on many acres of land in Texas. The home is rustic yet not rusty and stylish yet not unsuitable for the farmland. Joanna and Chip have proven once again that they are true fixer-uppers, not only beautifully decorating the homes of their clients on the HGTV show but also their very own home as well.
One of the greatest perks about having so much outdoor space, is its that Chip and Joanna can really get creative and add whatever charming additions they want. Joanna’s greenhouse is also multi-functional. Not only does it look absolutely charming, and allow the family to get creative with gardening and grow different plants and vegetables, it also has another use. The greenhouse is actually very spacious, and provides the perfect outdoor dining spot to seat their whole family and even entertain their guests. It’s actually a perfect summer house spot for a BBQ on a sunny day. We completely understand why Chip and Joanna fell in love with the farmhouse and the land, since there’s room to add everything they ever wanted.
I Was Saying…
As you may have noticed by now, Chip and Joanna have added some creative touches all around their house. Most of the rooms and and many blank spaces have been filled with inspirational quotes and insightful words of wisdom. It’s actually super cute and injects some personality and charm to every blank space. This eye-catching quote is placed at the entrance to the hallway and they not only look classy, but but are little reminders to their family to all the things that matter to them. We can only imagine that Chip and Joanna chose each quote carefully, and they complement the style of the house and tie everything together perfectly.
Not content with just a multi-functional greenhouse and dining spot, Joanna has also reserved a nice space for an outdoor garden. The garden is beautifully designed and allows her to enjoy her fun and rewarding hobby as well as inspire her children to get involved too. She has clearlythought of everything, and even built a little cottage, stone walkways through the middle and a fence to protect it from the farm animals. We bet she won’t need to go to the supermarket anymore, with all the vegetables and goodies she’s growing!
Well it seems Joanna and Chip Gaines’ have turned their kitchen into their own ‘Supermarket’, and it offers the perfect combination of rustic charm with a chic modern twist. Everything in her kitchen has been carefully organized and every decoration and trinket has its’ place. She has also added her signature touch with a ‘Supermarket’ sign above the sink and kitchen counter. The wooden floors, wooden cupboard space and white walls give it the perfect rustic feel. The addition of the plants and light from the window already make it a warm and homely space for the whole family to spend time in. It also looks spotless, so kudos to Joanna for keeping it so fresh and clean with such a large family to look after!
Joanna and Chip have done their best to ensure everything in their house has its’ place and every spot looks picture-perfect. As design-connoisseurs, as you can imagine, there’s no room for clutter and everything has been arranged with love. They have also somehow managed to make every space look homely and even this rustic wooden cabinet looks appealing with the table-wear additions on the shelves. Of course they have added the finishing touches with plants and another signature sign. We have to wonder if Joanna is a superhero cleaner or she asks her children to get involved as part of a team effort, as everything always looks so spotless!
The real thing that makes a house into a real home is some of the magical and unexpected moments with the Gaines family. Joanna often shares some of these treasured moments on her Instagram account, and they’re actually super cute. So lets take a look at some of the times that no one, including Joanna and Chip could have prepared for! In this group shot Joanna captioned how “Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie Kay are always keeping things interesting. A crooked sign, a brave little girl, adult onesies, Don Williams radio, and an old teddy bear. These are the good ol’ days.”
Sometimes a staircase is more than just a staircase in the Gaines family. Since there are so many children and so much space, there’s always new, fun and creative ways and areas to play. In this shot, one of the boys is making perfect use of the staircase by using it to build his card houses. Well he does look very focused and is concentrating very hard on his project. Perhaps he’s a budding engineer in the making. You can also see that they’ve added the finishing touches to the staircase with the black metal frames, white stairs and wooden back wall, complete with family photos, which ties in perfectly with the rustic-homely theme of the house.
While the Gaines clearly have an ever-expanding family, we’re sure they get asked the question if they’ll ever sell their house and move. Well according to Chip and Joanna, their kids love the house, and so do they. Well, we can totally understand why! Each room of the farmhouse has been lovingly designed to be chic but still comfy and homely. In this super intimate snap, here we can see Joanna’s bed is perfect for snuggling up with her newborn. Still, Joanna did say in an interview that “you never know with Chip” so the idea of moving is never fully out of the question. We can only imagine what their next house project would look like…
As you can guess by now, Joanna is really into her plants. Well she has strategically placed them all over the house and added an outdoor greenhouse and planting patch, so we’re sure you get the picture. Joanna even describes herself as a self-styled #plantlady. In fact, Joanna can often be found tending to her greens and there’s a lot of them to tend to! So she has her work cut out for her. She captioned this super cool shot, “It’s spa day for these beauties.”
As you can imagine by now, family is everything to the Gaines, so it was crucial when they designed their dream farmhouse, that they have enough space for the whole gang to enjoy together. They also make the best use of the space to encourage their kids to get creative and perfect their design and craft skills. In this super cute shot, you can see Joanna doing her best to inspire her kids to follow in her footsteps and spend their time coloring. The room also looks super-homely and warm, with special touches, like the chalk board with an inspiring quote, wooden features, chairs with numbers and family photos. Again, the kitchen has been designed with their signature black, white and wooden design scheme, which fits perfectly with the theme of the house.
Nooks And Crannies
Joanna and Chip really have thought of everything for their dream house. They have even made sure there’s enough cozy nooks for both their children and themselves to lounge around in. These cozy nooks have been organized with cushions and blankets, and are perfect for some quiet time. Here you can see one of the boys looking snug as a rug, curling up with a good book and a blanket. In fact, Joanna has often shared photos of her kids reading books, which is so refreshing when most children would be playing on iPads and computers. In each of her intimate snaps, everyone looks really comfy and happy, and we’re sure Chip and Joanna thought about this when they designed their family’s home.
The Family Room
From this angle, you can really see how much thought has gone into the family room. In fact, it’s so beautifully designed that it looks just like a show-room. Well, it was designed by experts, so we can understand why. There are so many charming and neat touches to the room, that make it the perfect place to entertain guests, cook, eat, play and for all the family to relax and unwind. So much thought has actually gone into it, that the design scheme strikes the perfect balance of cozy, rustic chic with the white, black and wooden color scheme.
Joanna and Chip have also added some more additions to their farmhouse property, that ties in perfectly with their green ambitions. They actually filmed a special episode of Fixer Upper for where the whole gang got involved. During the episode, they all came together to design the garden, complete with a chicken coop, chicken run and a stunning shed. This would be This actually provided the perfect spot to grow all their green goodies and many of them are shipped to their Magnolia Table restaurant. Joanna wrote on Instagram, “We were passionate about using locally grown produce. We love that many of the veggies will be coming straight from our home garden at the farm!”
Happy Hide Out
When they designed the boy’s bedroom, we’re sure they imagined that their kids would want to play games and make up some cool adventures. We’re sure they didn’t realize that it would also be the perfect hideaway space for the kids to build a fort inside. Somethings you can predict when you It’s clear there were no grown-ups allowed in the room that day, but that’s some pretty impressive blanket skills. Even Joanna couldn’t crack the code. She captioned this hilarious photo “Trying to figure out the secret password to get in here.”
Most families will experience those moments when their kids just don’t want to go to bed and ask for another ten more minutes. Well we’re sure Joanna has seen her fair share of sleepless excuses. Well actually it turns out that the stairs are another perfect excuse for extra playtime and the perfect way to delay their bedtime routine. In this super cute shot, it seems bedtime is just a state of mind for brothers Drake and Duke. Joanna seemed to see the funny side, especially as they seem really involved in whatever game they are playing. She wrote of her sweet sons.“Ok fine… ten more minutes.”
Dressing To Impress
Joanna and Chip clearly make a lot of effort to make their home the perfect place to inspire their kids with creativity and allow them to play cool games and get crafty with their DIY skills. So who knew that their house also doubles as the perfect place for a DIY fashion show. In this adorable shot, their daughter Emmie channels both her creative mom and dad with this goofy crafted robot costume. Joanna simply said of her DIY robot fashion show.“I like Saturdays.”
We’re sure there’s never a dull moment in this family’s house! But when there is, and the family are feeling sleepy, there are plenty of comfy spots for them to laze around in. Sometimes the best moments are when you’re doing nothing, so this room with an over-sized leather sofa is the perfect place for a snuggly Sunday snooze. It seems Chip also uses the space to catch up on some sports. Joanna captioned this photo, “Fun fact about@chippergaines is he doesn’t own a TV… But that won’t stop him from watching college football on a lazy Saturday with his phone and a rigged phone stand.”
The house is extremely warm and family-friendly and we’re sure it was designed to be a fun place for all the children to grow up happily. Since the Gaines’ family has grown so large now, we’re sure they had to design lots of creatives and comfy spaces and think of entertaining ways to keep them all occupied. The family also had to keep in mind that they might sometimes have visits from their extended family and friends, so this comfy couch is the perfect spot to fit a a couch full of animal pals, when their “cousins are back in town!!!”
Fun and Outdoor Games
This picture-perfect snap shows just how much fun it can be for their children to grow up on the farm on a beautiful sunny day. If ever the kids are bored of the house, they don’t have to go too far to find some outdoor adventure. The outdoor space really allows the kids to be kids and make anything into a fun shot, even rolls of hay. Joanna captioned this playful photo. “It doesn’t get much more Texas than a day in the hay! Chip created a farm style jungle gym for the kids.”
We’re sure as their family is so large, that it always seems like it’s someone’s birthday in their home. Still, these design gurus make an extra effort to make each of their children’s birthdays extra special and listen to their every request. In this case, Joanna put together a low-key balloon affair for her oldest son Duke’s big day. She shared this snap the night before the celebrations as “All he requested was balloons and mama’s cinnamon rolls… someone’s got a birthday tomorrow!!” Still, we’re sure birthdays are always a colorful celebration in their house.
It seems like Joanna and Chip’s grand master plan to inspire their kids with DIY creativity is working. In this super cute shot, their adorable daughters have turned into DIY divas and are clearly following in their mom’s footsteps, by putting on a mini craft queens show for all their animals pals to witness. They have also transformed the room into an adorable playroom. Joanna captioned this shot, “The girls have been taking sewing lessons for a year now and for the last few weeks they have been talking about a surprise they are making. They finally finished this week and I just love this quilt and so do their ‘students’ they are reading to!”
In case we still weren’t convinced that this would be the happiest place for their kids to grow up in, there are also plenty of outdoor activities for them to enjoy. So, when the children aren’t sewing, baking, building forts or climbing counters, they can be found happily hanging outside with the animals. There are plenty of them to play with, from a their handful of dogs to cats, cows, horses, chickens and even baby goats.
Dreams And Doodles
Joanna and Chip have probably realized by now that kids love to express their creativity to doodle on walls, so they found the perfect solution to encourage their creativity and not destroy the house. A chalk board is the perfect place for them to let out all their doodling energy. Joanna also tries to encourage and inspire her kids to be creative and have hopes and dreams for the future. In January 2016, she shared another sweet moment with her youngest daughter, “I asked Emmie Kay what she would tell everyone as inspiration for the New Year. Just be nice. To everyone. And unicorns if they are alive.’” Aw!
A Family Affair
As most families have experienced, the most typical place for all the kids to hang out and get comfy in, is mom and dad’s bed. So instead of fighting it, the Gaines family had to make sure their family bed was supersized, and comfy enough to accommodate all of their family. The room also manages to look elegantly chic, yet comfy and provides the perfect spot for their growing family to snuggle together in and watch a movie on a lazy Sunday morning.
The Whole Gang
Joanna and Chip have really designed their dream farm house and have ensured they have plenty of space for their entire family. There’s also enough space for as many animals they can fit too! It looks like they’ve created and designed their perfect home in Texas, and have ensured their theme and design scheme flows seamlessly from room to room. They have also carefully added charming touches and extra design details to every space, and made sure this house went from ‘run-down’ to ‘fixed-up’. So while they might not be on the show Fixer Uppers anymore, there’s no denying that this family still have the talent.
