The first sighting of Meghan was a week after she and Harry made their shocking announcement. She was photographed boarding a seaplane at Victoria Harbour Airport. At last, she was leaving the $14 million house where she and Harry spent the holidays. She left to pay the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center in Vancouver in order to “discuss issues affecting the community.” While she was hit with a lot of negative press, we are glad to see her in high spirits. The day after that, there were photos of the Duchess out and about at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. “She was very interested in what goes on for women in this community, who we all know are marginalized women who’ve faced many challenges and barriers to their wellbeing,” explained the acting executive director, “She was interested, she was informed, she had great questions, followed up with questions on things that the staff had spoken about.” It did not take before rumors claimed that she set it up at the last minute. The manager at the shelter confirmed that they only got a day’s notice.
