The Shining
Of course, this list would not be complete without mentioning the 1980 horror flick The Shining. Jack Nicholson proves that he’s the closest we have to a king of improvisation. Remember him peering into the smashed bathroom door, yelling “Here’s Johnny!” We bet you do. However, here’s something you didn’t know beforehand: it was an improvised scene that was meant to be a tribute to The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Harrison Ford played everyone’s favorite intergalactic smuggler. The movie was full of legendary scenes, but let’s focus on the sweet moment between Princess Leia and Hans Solo. As they were about to be separated, the former says, “I love you.” Solo only replies, “I know.” It wasn’t in the script but it still managed to be a famous scene!
