Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

For people of the younger generation, this is the franchise that got them started on fantasy. However, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, there was a scene that you would not find in both the books and the screenplay. We are talking about the scene when the matriarch and patriarch of the large Weasley family were trying to come up with a way to punish the boys. Apparently, it took about a dozen takes before they decided to move on. They simply went with the take that involved Arthur Weasley asking our main character, “What exactly is the function of a rubber duck?” It was a line that made everyone think so it’s fascinating to learn that it was off the cuff!

Here’s an interesting trivia about Rick Moranis: he started his performance career as an improv artist in Chicago! That’s probably why he was so great at coming up with his own lines for Ghostbusters. Director Ivan Reitman has actually spoken about the actor’s gift. When asked about the party speech, he said that “Rick just made all of it up as he was doing it.”
