Forrest Gump
This is a movie that just about everyone adores and for a good reason. No other film has made us laugh, cry, and cheer as much as this one did. So which scene was performed off the cuff? Surprisingly, it happens to be, “My name is Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump.” Tom Hanks stumbled over his lines with this one but the director liked it a lot.

Sam Mendes, the director of American Beauty, encouraged creativity in his set by giving the cast members plenty of freedom. It’s pretty incredulous, but the infamous dinner scene was actually improvised. The actors simply received some guidelines to follow, but they came up with everything else.
