The boat scene was actually largely adlibbed by Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pine only had praises for his co-actor: “She’s delivering lines like, ‘My father is Zeus’ – shit that is just so ridiculous. And she has to say it with a straight face, with a certain amount of innocence and earnestness. I get to react like any human being would to hearing something as ridiculous as that. So I had it easy.”

Mars Attacks! was created as Tim Burton’s homage to alien invasion flicks that were popular in the 1950s. Do you remember the sound the Martians made? “Ack! Ack! Ack!” It was not actually planned if you can believe it. It was Frank Welker who made it up then and there. It was pretty catchy so there’s no wonder why it caught on!
