In all the places to see in Africa, South Africa is one of the most visited. Tourists are still going every day, regardless of the growing issues of crime and drought. The locals don’t mind having visitors, but what gets them going is how the property prices are rising as more tourists are interested in Cape Town. Now the residents can barely afford to live there.

Portugal has seen a huge amount of over-tourism, specifically in Lisbon. Lisbon is benefiting financially from tourism but at the expense of locals. Portuguese residents can’t manage to find affordable housing in the center of the city since they are posted on short term websites for tourists on. What’s even worse, the ancient houses are posted for foreign investors to renovate and rent out to visitors.
