But what happens to our toys when we aren’t playing with them? That brilliant yet simple idea resulted in one of the best animated masterpieces of all time. Any great crime story must begin with an inexperienced detective. Criminals in Fargo, Minnesota, believe they have nothing to fear from hugely pregnant police chief Marge Gunderson. (the Best Actress Oscar winner Frances McDormand). But they couldn’t have been more mistaken. Marge foreshadows a recurring topic in the film: appearances can be deceiving.
