Aldi is very serious about the quality of their items. As a matter of fact, the test kitchens have strict policies. Every product has been tested 30 times before it gets to the store. On top of that, they also re-test them at least once every year and once more whenever a competitor launches a similar item.
Verzicht Is Their Philosophy
The company’s philosophy is “verzicht” which doesn’t have a direct English translation. The word is a combination of “giving up” and “doing without” which symbolizes the company’s thriftiness and simplicity. However, the employees wouldn’t tell you this as they aren’t allowed to speak to the media. We know of this thanks to a regional manager who revealed the company’s business plan in a book. The key is to set a goal and forget the rest!
