Pufferfish behavior is well-known to fans of the hit TV show Spongebob Squarepants. At the very least, a smidgeon of it. The majority of pufferfish species are poisonous, and they are among the most dangerous vertebrates on the planet. This fish has some unique natural defenses to keep predators at bay. It can escape danger by using its tail for a quick burst of speed, and if that fails, it can fill its elastic stomach with water (or air if it’s not in the water) until it expands and becomes spherical in shape.

The big flippered marine animal is just as adorable as the other baby animals on this list when it’s young. As adults, these animals can grow to be quite large. An adult male walrus in the Pacific can weigh over 2,000 kilograms (4,400 pounds). Walruses spend the majority of their lives searching for benthic bivalve mollusks to eat on the sea ice. They spend most of their time in shallow waters near continental shelves.
