Barbara Parkins
She was only 16 years old when Barbara Parkins moved to Los Angeles in the hopes of making it big. We are glad that she succeeded! At first, she was hired to be a backup singer and dancer to huge stars in different nightclubs. She managed to get her debut role in a low-budget movie called 20,000 Eyes in 1961. After that, she landed roles in other projects. One of the most famous ones was the film adaptation of Valley of the Dolls. We are not all surprised to hear that she has been nominated for an Emmy Award as Best Actress in the past!
Julie Ege
At the age of 15, Julie Ege entered the industry as a model. Three years later, she entered the Miss Norway competition and finished second. She also joined Miss Universe and eventually moved to England so that she can improve her English and work as an au pair at the same time. During the late ‘60s, she received small roles in various projects. The biggest one of these must be a 1971 comedy movie called Up Pompeii. Many people have referred to her as a glamour actress, but this did not bother her. She has admitted that it was fine with her as long as it helped her with the bills.
