All her life, Rita Hayworth proved her worth as a performer. As a young girl, she danced in New York until the family moved to California when she was 10 years old. In the ‘30s, she worked on a number of dancing movies. The decade after that, she got her chance to take on more serious roles. The following decade had not been easy for her thanks to her personal issues. She went into a downward spiral of alcohol and financial issues, which meant that job offers went to younger women. Tragically, she passed away in 1987 after suffering from various symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease for decades.
