Gloria Hendry

The first Bond girl of African-American descent was none other than Gloria Hendry. She appeared in Live and Let Die alongside Roger Moore and Jane Seymour. People loved her character! In the movie, she brought a CIA agent called Rosie Carver to life. Sadly, the role did not help her make it all that big in Hollywood. The truth is that she failed to take on other roles after her time in the series.

For a long time, only European ladies got to be Bond girls. After that, the series started to feature more American stars. Maud Adams marked the return to the former when she starred in two movies in the films, but she had a pretty small role at first. She was Andrea Anders in The Man with the Golden Gun. Nine years after this, we saw her again as Octopussy in the film of the same title.
