Since Sophie joined the family, David and Emily’s relationship had already deteriorated, but things had gotten worse. David accompanied Sophie to his parents’ home virtually every day even though he was seldom ever home since Sophie was constantly wanting to visit her Nana and Papa. It hurt Emily’s heart since she was becoming more and more sure that he was Sophie’s father.

Of course, she was unable to know for sure at this point. The worst thing was waiting for the test results, which she was currently doing. She made the decision to concentrate on her work instead of feeling so lonely, at least until she received the findings. She was unsure of what would transpire because everything depended on how the test turned out.
