Pauline Collins – 80, Exmouth
Pauline Collins is a BAFTA, Olivier, and Tony Award winner who is now working on the upcoming comedy film Byrd and the Bees. Shirley Valentine, a one-character drama in which she played a middle-aged, working-class lady from Liverpool who decides to alter her life after an inspired holiday in Greece, is still her most well-known work. Collins has worked widely with film and television productions, including the screen adaptation of Shirley Valentine and the drama City of Joy. Younger fans may recognize her from the 2015 television series Dickensian.
Wendy Craig – 87, Sacriston
Wendy Craig was on Alan Titchmarsh’s talk show Love Your Weekend earlier in 2021 and was as beautiful as usual. Craig, an 87-year-old actress who excelled in sitcoms, has been active since 1955 and has always been known for her distinctively short haircut. Craig, a mother of two from Sacriston, Durham, had a hugely successful run in the 1960s and 1970s, appearing in three sitcoms in a row: Not in Front of the Children,… And Mother Has Three Children, and… Mother also makes five. Craig, like many of her contemporaries, received her training at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama.
