While trading is welcomed, cash exchanges are prohibited at the festival. However, exchanges including gifts are allowed. In this sense, people have to give a little to get a little. It started with favors, and then over the years has progressed to physical gifts.

Aside from coffee, all supplies are acquired through sharing and exchanges. Everyone who is there is ready to be part of the community and contribute in any way that they can. Whether its art, supplies, massages, it’s really a communal experience.
