Burrell discussed something in common with Harry’s wife and his late mother in an interview with Closer the next month. He said, “Harry sought and married Meghan because she is close to Diana.” Both [are] independent people who will never step away from speaking up for what they believe in.” Despite this, Burrell suggests that if Diana were still living, Meghan and Diana’s similarity might have caused some friction.

“I believe [Diana and Meghan] may have clashed,” Burrell hypothesized. “I imagine it would have been two powerful, autonomous women with opposite viewpoints. It must have come down to Meghan’s way and Diana’s way.” He didn’t, though, dispute that the two are different in several respects.
