Charley Pride
Charley Pride was a man of many talents. An American singer, guitarist, and professional baseball player, he reached musical success in the 1970s when he became a best-selling performer. In fact, he was the best-selling performer since Elvis Presley himself. During the peak of his musical career, Charley had 52 top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. 30 of them made it to number one as well. On December 12th, 2020, Charley passed away as a result of COVID-19 complications.
Carol Sutton
Known for her roles in movies like Steel Magnolias and Ray as well as TV shows like Queen Sugar, Treme, and True Detective, Carol Sutton won a New Orleans Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 for her work. It’s clear that she will be remembered for years to come. The New Orleans native passed away on December 10th after she battled COVID-19 for a month. She died as a result of complications from the virus.
