Kirk Douglas
Kirk Douglas actually went up to high school fame before becoming a world-renowned star when he joined the cheerleading squad. His skills and abilities were mastered at his local high school, Amsterdam High School, in Amsterdam, New York. He focused on renewing his spiritual and religious life after barely surviving a helicopter crash in 1991 and then having a stroke in 1996. He remained with his second wife, the producer Anne Buydens, until his death at the age of 103 on February 5, 2020. A centenarian, he was one of the last remaining actors in the Golden Age of the movie industry.
Halle Berry
Halle Berry, daughter of a hospital manager and psychiatric nurse, did it all at Bedford High School in Cleveland, where she was a cheerleader, honor student, school newspaper editor, and was also a prom queen. Berry made her TV debut in 1989, and two years later, in Spike Lee ‘s film Jungle Fever, she came out on a big screen. Around 2001, for her performance in Monsters Ball, the talented actress became the first African-American to receive an Academy Award for Best Actress. As of February 2019, she became an executive producer of the Boomerang TV series BET, based on the film she acted in.
