Jenna Dewan
In the 2006 movie Step Up, she achieved success because of her powerful dance movements. This makes perfect sense for her to be a performer. And yet Jenna Dewan was just a regular high school cheerleader in Texas before she began working in Hollywood. Jenna had her first moment in the spotlight in the entertainment industry and started working as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson, the music icon, in 2001. And because she’s all about dancing, Dewan has hosted the reality television shows World of Dance and Flirty Dancing. On Instagram during their cheerleading days, the dancer turned actress posted a sweet throwback photo with a caption: ‘#tbt to Texas high school cheerleader days.’
Danielle Brooks
Danielle Brooks was a cheerleader before she went on to star at the tv series Orange Is the New Black. Because of how she felt on the skirt she decided to quit. The actress shared an emotional letter, the one which she wrote: “You really quit cheerleading because of how you felt you looked when you were wearing a skirt? OK! Never ever quit anything again because you’re scared of what others might think of you — unless you become an exotic dancer, the only exception. But even then, only quit because you want to.”
