This is two spots higher than its ranking in the previous year! A Quora user called Euro Larson Odello believes that part of its appeal is that you can have any lifestyle you want in the state. “You don’t have to live in a giant city or suburb,” she said. “We have artist communities; you can live on a ranch, you can live far away from other people [or] you can live just close enough to get the benefits of urban areas without the inconvenience.”

The Beaver State has been getting more and more new faces ever since the Oregon Trail was founded in the 1800s. To no surprise, 2019 was not an exception to the rule. For the third consecutive year, it claimed the top two spot in terms of inbound moves in United Van Lines’ study. Apart from its gorgeous scenery, the state is also full of tech industry jobs. This is the case in Portland and Hillsboro, which has since been nicknamed the Silicon Forrest. “There are hundreds of satellite offices of … big companies that support the semiconductor industry,” said Quora user Anil Kumar. He went on, “Additionally, Nike, Columbia and Fisher Investments are headquartered in Portland Metro.”
