Virginia
We are sad to report that Virginia seems low on love nowadays. According to the Weldon Cooper Center at the University of Virginia, the state’s population might be growing slowly, although the rate is now at its lowest since the ‘20s. Tens of thousands of people flee every year. As usual, jobs were the biggest factor at play here, although some people move here for the same reason. A Redditor called boognish83 has come up with a theory for what is going on: “Traffic is consistently terrible. I’m from Pittsburgh originally, and Norfolk actually changed the way I drive now. Flooding is pretty out of control in many areas. Also, housing is pretty expensive for what it is; that might be everywhere, though.”
Montana
There are a couple of reasons people want to leave the Treasure State. Even though work is the primary reason at nearly 32 percent, others cited family, retirement, and lifestyle as well. While Montana is not the busiest state, the University of Montana conducted an economic study that said housing is growing more expensive, especially in the western areas. A Redditor called DoctorBadger101 said that their expectations do not match reality. They said, “Isolation. At first, this sounds awesome. Spending all your time in the glorious beauty of Montana. Green trees, blue sky, crisp air, zero pollution. They then went on, “Until you realize that that’s not typical of Montana living and you’ll be isolated somewhere like Billings or Great Falls where the isolation isn’t beautiful and wisdom-inspiring, it’s just living in the middle of nowhere without a mountain in sight.”
