Abby tried to stay as still as she could while pretending to sleep by closing her eyes. As he peered over the side of her face to see if she was genuinely sleeping, she felt the warmth of his breath on her cheek. He gradually backed off and went to his own bedroom to spend the night.

Only Abby knew what she had heard coming from the shed because she had been asleep during the entire night. She couldn’t quit worrying about that awful sound the rest of the day.
