There were several reasons the glyptodons were hunted. First of all, the huge and hard shells must have been attractive to our forebears. They were the perfect thing to use as a makeshift shelter. You might think that humans lived in caves back then, but there were not many of those available. On the other hand, a shell like this could fit two to three people. This was not the only reason they were hunted.
