Lily Tomlin, 78, who had gained prominence over the years, was an actress, comedian, producer, singer, and writer. She began her career as a stand-up comedian, working for a few years with Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. In 1974, her first film appearance was in Nashville, and she was nominated for numerous awards. In 2013, she married Jane Wagner and spent 42 years living together.
