Magic Johnson: HIV/AIDS Advocate

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Magic Johnson first overall in the 1979 NBA draft. The player in question wore purple and yellow for 13 years before retiring. In 1991, he bravely announced his HIV status to the world. Johnson is an advocate for HIV/AIDS prevention and is working to dispel the myth that heterosexuals are immune to the disease. Among other things, he is a businessman, philanthropist, broadcaster, and motivational speaker. His non-profit, the Magic Johnson Foundation, raises funds and awareness for the disease.

Penny Hardaway: Barbershop Owner

From 1993 to 2007, Penny Hardaway played for the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat.
