Joy Harmon – Age 82
Joy Harmon is most recognized for her scene-stealing performance in Stuart Rosenberg’s classic film Cool Hand Luke. Despite her brief acting career, Harmon has found success as a baker and businesswoman. Groucho Marx first encountered Joy, a Flushing native, as a guest on You Bet Your Life. He then urged her to work on Tell It to Groucho with him. With only a few television appearances to her credit, she made more money as a pin-up girl in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but she eventually gave up acting. Harmon then founded Aunt Joy’s Cakes, as baking has always been one of her interests.
