Christina has said that helping the older man is a reward in and of itself already. “It was truly an honor,” she explained. “There are so many amazing stories about our veterans and I thank them for everything they’ve done for us!”

That day, he and his mom had lunch when they saw the staff give Mr. Doug a gift card worth $200. Moments later, they shared that he would get food in the house for the rest of his life. It was such a moving scene that the diner wanted to share it with the world.
