While their story is not the most cheerful one, it is surely the most touching and proves that the friendships made between a dog and a cat can run very deep even after death. Charlie the dog and Scout the cat had a bond unlike any other and they did everything together. When Charlie died, Scout never quite returned to his old self. Old videos of Charlie had to be played on a computer and the poor cat had to curl up next to it to be able to sleep.

The story would have been even better if Kacy and the neighbor had fallen in love while they connected over the love of their pets, but it wouldn’t have been a story Tom Hanks would star in on the silver screen. However, we’re not saying the pets’ love story would not have made a great film because who wouldn’t like an animal love story? Who doesn’t love love?
