Here’s an interesting tidbit: Selleck was offered the role of Mitch Buchannon in the 90’s TV show Baywatch, only to turn it down, with the role falling to David Hasselhoff’s hands. Apparently, Selleck turned it down because he didn’t want to be recognized as a sex symbol! Understandable.

Another interesting fact about Selleck’s career is his role as Dr. Richard Burke in Friends, who is a divorced ophthalmologist who dates Monica Geller, played by Courtney Cox. He also got nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a comedy series! He’s quite a star!
