Sweet Pineapple
It may not seem logical, but salt makes the pineapple taste even sweeter. Seriously, you’d be surprised how much a shot or pinch can completely change the taste of the fruits you eat every day. Adding salt to pineapple suppresses the bitter taste of the fruit, which in turn improves your brain’s interpretation of sweetness. The next time your pineapple tastes a little sub-par, sprinkle some salt on top to trick your mind into believing the fruit is sweeter than it really is.
Melon
As you understood with the pineapple, one of the things salt does is draw water to itself. If you have an area with a high salt concentration next to an area with low salt concentration, the water will move from the area with low salt concentration to the area with high salt concentration. By sprinkling a little salt on your melon, you will create an area of high salt concentration next to these cells. Your water will be drawn to the surface you bite on and bring flavor to it. The melon has miraculously become sweeter thanks to salt!
