However, the part about this that most people probably remember is the relationship between Matt Hardy and Edge. Their rivalry had serious personal overtones in 2005. When Hardy got injured, Diva Lita, his then-girlfriend, started going on the road with Edge. This led to the backstage hostility, since Lita and Edge began moving towards the romantic line.

Their rivalry never resulted in a backstage fight, but John Cena and The Rock’s beef with each other did not really come from WrestleMania’s bright lights. Many people think the wrestler’s bad feelings originated from comments that Cena made about The Rock during an interview in 2007. A video was shared online, showing The Rock’s response, in which the wrestler accused Cena of competing simply for the money. However, it seems like their harsh feelings for each other had already subsided as The Rock held his opponent’s hand high up when Cena won the WWE title after their match in WrestleMania 29.
