Karen decided not to attend the playgroup as a result of Chelsea’s text messages to her. They have not seen Karen or her daughter, which only serves to demonstrate how she has chosen to handle the situation. She did not accept responsibility or apologize; instead, she chose to ignore the situation. Her obstinate demeanor demonstrates that her motivations are not pure.

Chelsea was unconcerned when Karen stopped showing up at the playgroup and disappeared for an extended period of time. She simply reasoned that life without another stressor is far more important than life with another stressor. She also means every word that she writes in her messages, and she believes that Karen should take some time to think about it.
