When the bugs attack the Earth, he immediately switches to command mode. He’s a capable soldier and one of the bravest characters in the movie. He eventually requests Rico to give him a quick death when he falls into the sand hole. Despite his dissatisfaction, Rico agrees to fulfill his final wish.
