Open Shelving
Unless your theme is “eclectic collector,” you can avoid using an unnecessary amount of open shelving. Seriously, the plates and bowls aren’t distinctive enough to be shown for us to see. Instead, take the energy and channel it into your dining room, bedroom, or other room where you have things to show that speak to your personality. People would not be impressed with dirty mugs and pans.

Unless you’re cooking in a sun-drenched Tuscan villa, put the pots away in the cabinets like anyone else. People who show their pots for all to see are normally attempting to project the image of experienced cooks, but ironically, such kitchens rarely seem to have been touched by human hands. Not only does it have a cluttered aesthetic, but all of those pans could end up collecting dust. Keep in mind that pots are functional, not trendy. Treat them with respect!
