Whoopi Goldberg Then
It’s probably fair to conclude Whoopi Goldberg has never been a sex icon. More than her beauty, she’s known for her incredible acting and boisterous attitude. She has earned 13 Emmy nominations and has collected at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. In 1985, she received critical praise for her performance in The Color Purple, a film about an oppressed black woman in the Deep South. But it was her appearance in Ghost in the 1990s that cemented her spot in the public eye. She appeared in a slew of successful films and television shows, including Sister Act, Hollywood Squares, and The View.
Whoopi Goldberg Now
After the Ghost days, Whoopi has undoubtedly added a few pounds. Many of this has been credited in the media to her love of a good joint, contributing to the munchies on occasion. Plus, it’s just normal for most of us to accumulate weight over time. Though Whoopi still performs on occasion, she now devotes most of her attention to LGBT advocacy. Her “Give a Damn” movement aims to persuade homosexual, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals to join forces alongside heterosexual people to pursue equal and fair lives. That’s incredible. Thank you for what you do, Whoopi!
