Shanghai Tower

The Shanghai Tower is one of the most aesthetically pleasing building son this entire list. Located in Shanghai, China, the Shanghai Tower was built over a seven year period from 2008 all the way to 2015. The building cost $2.4 billion to construct and it lands on our list as the tallest building in all of China and the second tallest building in the world. There are 128 total floors and over 4 million square feet of area to walk through. Jun Xia led the design team while an American architectural firm by the name of Gensler was hired to spearhead the project. The building hosts an elaborate spiraling design that looks like nine cylinder buildings stacked on top of one another. There are gardens, cafes, restaurants, and a wide view of the city inside.

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa leads our list thanks to its iconic structure, stunning height (2,722 feet) and iconic place inside of Dubai. This is the true tallest tower on the planet and it showcases more than 154 floors. To construct the stunning building it cost developer Emaar Properties almost $1.5 billion and took five years of constant work. The tower gained some more free publicity when it was featured in the American movie ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ with star Tom Cruise climbing the actual building himself.
