Tommy Flanagan
It is hard not to notice the scars that adorn Tommy Flanagan’s cheeks. Known for his work on projects such as Ridley Scott’s Gladiator and the TV show Sons of Anarchy, Flanagan has become a stalwart member of Hollywood. His noted scars, which run the length of both cheeks, came after an intense bar fight back in Scotland. A group of people attacked Tommy and tried to rob him. Flanagan fought back and was left with what we call a ‘Glasgow Smile’. Flanagan almost died.
Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol may be one of pop cultures most recognizable artists, at least in the world of fine art, but he was also almost killed for his work. Warhol had been given a script by a woman named Valerie Solanas. Warhol misplaced the script when Valeria had come to retrieve it and she ended up pulling out a gun and shooting Warhol. Andy barely survived the attack and was forced to wear a surgical corset. Warhol’s chest is covered in scars from the attack.
