While Reynolds had already appeared in films and shows, it wasn’t until he starred in the 1972 film Deliverance that earned him critical acclaim. Shortly after, his fame grew tenfold when he appeared centerfold in Cosmopolitan. Ahem, we do have to point out that Reynolds appeared as the first nude male for Cosmo. Which he then claims hurt his chances for the film (Deliverance) and the cast to receive Academy Awards.
