Charles Barkley

Basketball enthusiasts most certainly would include Charles Barkley with the NBA, in which they may possibly not know he is an Olympic gold medalist as well. In 1992 and 1996 he played for the United States team – winning in both competitions. In 1993, Barkley was the MVP of the NBA and in 2000 he retired. Barkley built a reputation for himself as being one of the best basketball broadcast analysts. He has written several books since his retirement and has shown a political interest.

Sergey Bubka

In 1988, Sergey Bubka took home Olympic gold as the Ukrainian pole vaulter from the Soviet Union. All through his career, he achieved the same outstanding results and broke the world record 35 times. In 2012, Bubka was inducted as an official member of the International Association of Athletics Federations Hall of Fame and was named Athlete of the Year by Track & Field news twice. He had become President of the International Athletics Federations since his retirement. He is also an Honorary Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), having been involved since 1996.
