Weimaraner is a dog breed that is not ideal if you have little kids, although their reasons are not like the others. They are excitable creatures with high energy levels that make them knock little kids over! Bred for hunting, these dogs get bored easily and require constant stimulation and attention from their owners. It might be hard to meet their needs on top of caring for small children.

If you want to get an Australian Shepherd, you should keep in mind that they need a lot of exercise. Bred to be disaster rescue dogs and watchdogs, they need a lot of runs and walks if you do not want to see behavioral issues in the future. When you have to look after kids as well, you might neglect their needs! Australian Shepherds are not comfortable meeting new people as well, so you might want to set weekly playdates. People with busy schedules might want to reconsider.
